The short version
Your financial data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
We never sell your data. You are the customer, not the product.
Bank connections are read-only through Plaid. We never store credentials.
You can delete your account and all data at any time.
1. Who we are
FYN ("we," "us," or "our") is a personal finance platform operated by FYN FYI LLC. This policy explains what data we collect when you use FYN on the web, mobile, or through the Agent API, and how we handle it.
2. What we collect
Account information
Name, email address, and authentication credentials when you create an account. If you subscribe to Pro, our payment processor (Stripe) handles billing details directly. We do not store card numbers.
Financial data
Transactions, account balances, and institution names imported through Plaid. Receipts you upload or forward by email, including extracted line items, return policies, and warranty dates. Budgets, categories, tags, and other settings you configure.
Usage and technical data
IP address, device type, browser version, and general usage patterns. We use this to maintain security, fix bugs, and improve the product. We also use essential cookies for session management and optional analytics cookies to understand how the platform is used.

Everything we do with your data serves one purpose: making FYN useful to you.

- 03Power AI chat and voice so you can ask questions about your spending in natural language.
- 04Match receipts to bank transactions for complete purchase context.

- 06Improve the platform based on aggregate usage patterns (never individual financial data).
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial information. We share data only with the following parties, and only to the extent necessary to operate the platform:
We may also disclose information if required by law, to respond to valid legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of FYN and its users.
5. How we protect your data
Encryption
256-bit TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest in AWS.
Read-only bank access
FYN can view transactions but never move money.
No stored credentials
Bank login is handled entirely by Plaid. We never see your password.
Access controls
Role-based permissions, audit logging, and key rotation.
No system is perfectly secure. We take reasonable measures to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. You can also object to certain processing or request that we restrict how we use your information.
Delete your account: Visit fyn.fyi/remove-account to permanently remove your account and all associated data.
Exercise other rights: Email [email protected] with your request. We respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We also use analytics cookies to understand how the platform is used. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent the platform from functioning correctly.
9. Children
FYN is not designed for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the platform. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
