Copilot Money MCP: How to Connect It

Checked . Copilot claims are from the November 3, 2026 connector post, the October 27, 2026 Money Assistant post, the help article, llms.txt, the FAQ, and the homepage. FYN claims are from the MCP reference and pricing. If a page did not say it, it is not here.

Short answer. Copilot Money MCP is live and read-only. Add https://mcp.copilot.money/mcp, then sign in with OAuth. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Codex CLI can read the Copilot record. They cannot change it or move money. The Money Assistant inside the iPhone app is a separate feature, and it asks before it edits. The side-by-side with FYN is on FYN vs Copilot.

What Copilot Money MCP is

MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets an assistant call an app you approved. Copilot's November 3, 2026 Dispatch says the connector is how you ask about Copilot data inside Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Codex CLI. It can reference accounts, transactions, budgets, Recurrings, investments, and tags. The post says access is read-only for now. The tool cannot move money, change accounts, or edit anything in Copilot. You approve the connection, and you can remove it.

The October 27, 2026 Dispatch is the general-availability note. It says the Money Assistant and the MCP are available to everyone. The assistant is described there as currently on iOS, with more platforms coming. It can take actions such as a new category or a refund match, and it checks with you first. The homepage, read November 5, 2026, says the assistant never acts without your approval. That in-app assistant is not this connector. The connector only reads.

Copilot opened a read-only beta with a waitlist on May 15, 2026. The help article read November 5, 2026 does not mention a waitlist, and it says write operations are not supported. Other budget apps with a connector are in which budget apps have an MCP server.

How to connect it

The server URL is https://mcp.copilot.money/mcp. Sign-in is OAuth, so the Copilot password stays out of the AI tool. Copilot's help says the exact clicks differ by tool and points at each tool's own docs. The only numbered path printed on that help page is ChatGPT on the desktop. The other clients use the same URL.

ChatGPT desktop

The help article says this path is a paid ChatGPT subscription, and that the sign-in authenticates as Codex, not as ChatGPT. Turn on Developer mode under Settings, then Security and login. Then:

  1. Settings, then Plugins, then Add, then Add MCP Server.
  2. Name: Copilot Money.
  3. Type: Streamable HTTP.
  4. URL: https://mcp.copilot.money/mcp.
  5. Save, then Authenticate.

ChatGPT on the web, Claude, Cursor, and Codex CLI

The help article marks ChatGPT on the website as a paid subscription too, and it links Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex CLI without printing those menus. Add the same URL as a custom connector, then sign in to Copilot in the browser and allow read access. If a menu name has moved, use the link on Copilot's help page. Grok is not on the supported list. Copilot says more clients are waiting on its data providers.

After it connects, ask a figure you can check in Copilot, such as last month's restaurant total. Disconnect any tool you no longer use. Copilot recommends reading that tool's terms, including how it handles data you surface through the connector. The help page links training opt-outs for ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor.

What an answer can include

The help article says the tool can view accounts, investments, transactions, categories, budgets, Recurrings, and tags, as they appear in Copilot. The November 3 post's list is accounts, transactions, budgets, Recurrings, investments, and tags. The pages checked do not say you can limit the grant to one account or one date range. A prompt that names groceries narrows the question. It does not narrow the permission.

A log of each read is not on the help page. The control Copilot documents is to review which tools are connected and disconnect the ones you have stopped using.

Price, apps, and household

llms.txt, read November 5, 2026, lists $18 a month or $109 a year, with a free trial, on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and the web. The FAQ says there is no permanent free tier, that new users get a 1-month trial, and that the current price is on the website. The FAQ does not print the dollar amount. The homepage lists iPhone, iPad, Mac, and the web. It does not list Android. It also says up to 3 people can share one account, with full access, at no extra cost.

Where FYN fits

FYN publishes a read-only MCP at https://mcp.fyn.fyi. You link a bank in FYN through Plaid. Free includes one bank connection: one bank login, and the accounts under it, such as checking, savings, and a card at the same bank. It stays connected while you use FYN. After 30 days with no use (no app or web sign-in, no ChatGPT or Claude use), it disconnects at the end of that month, and you can link it again anytime. Pro is $9.99 a month. It links up to 15 bank accounts, across more than one bank, and includes unlimited household members. Everyone shares the plan's limits. The free plan includes 1 household member.

The agent connects to FYN, not to the bank, and it does not get the bank password. The only scope is read. Agent Activity shows each read, and you can disconnect the app. The same URL works in Claude, ChatGPT on Plus and up, and Grok. Calls are 500 a day on Free and 10,000 a day on Pro. The steps for Claude are on connect your money to Claude. Copilot's connector is a real second option when the budget already lives in Copilot.

Try FYN free. The free plan does not expire and does not ask for a card.
